How to prepare for an American parliamentary debate contest?I mean if there is any book or news websites recommended where valuable editorials can be found.I shall be appreciate for any practical advice on debating,too.including how to make strong arguments, how to take notes in short hands,etc.thx a lot :)

When making strong arguments you have to have full knowledge on what you're debating about. Understand you position in and out. There's a book that talks about rhetorics tips and tricks called "Thank You for Arguing: What Aristotle, Lincoln, and Homer Simpson Can Teach Us About the Art of Persuasion"
