Ok, thanks for the update. In that case, I would go with:
Whilst studying at [INSERT NAME] university, I specialised in clinical psychology.
You could go with the less formal:
My speciality at university was clinical psychology.
However, you tend to find that more formal English is preferred when applying to university.
Make sure you're aware of the level formality that is expected. For example: contractions (words like you're, and they're) would not be appropriate, and the overuse of 'I' can also be an issue (though can vary between institutions and areas of study).
Hope this helps.

I studied clinical psychology at the former university.
The word specially was confusing in the sentence. Did you mean as a speciality (My speciality at university was in clinical psychology) or that you studied clinical psychology in a number of places especially at this university (I studied clinical psychology, especially at the former university.
I assumed that you have mentioned the university name previously which is why you are using the word former. If not, you might want to consider using the name of the university.

@Titchestiny: Thanks for correction!
I meant as a speciality at university.
And when you want to emphasize that you studied psychology at an university before, how does it say?
Because, I'm going to take an entrance exam for another university and this sentence is supposed to be used in English essay test.

@Titchestiny: Thanks a lot! Your comments is so helpful.
I'll keep it in mind not to overuse 'I'. It's a difficult though...lol
