I was wondering the TV's subtitles.
In Taiwan, every channel have subtitle, but as far as I know, America and Japan don't.
I think that is a problem if I watch tv at night, and I don't want too loud to affect my GF who is sleeping next to me.
Is that a kind of culture difference !?

Japan has subtitles but not all the time. I don't know if they have closed captioning functions as we do in the State. The US has closed captioning for the deaf and hard if hearing. Most channels do have it as a service obligation.
