probably = it is very likely that ~
The dog apparently ate the birthday cake. = it looks like the dog ate the birthday cake; I can see frosting on the dog's fur and paw marks on the table
The dog probably ate the birthday cake. = it's very likely that the dog ate the birthday cake; I know that the dog does these kinds of things
"Apparently" is based on things you can see. "Probably" is based on things that you know or reasoned.

"Apparently" means "as far as one knows" while "probably" means the same thing. "I'll probably take out the trash tonight." Apparently is used in a sort of sarcastic tone a lot, as if "Apparently I'm picking up Sarah from school." As if Sarah is still stranded at school. Apparently means that while everyone else may know, the speaker may be the only one uncertain.
