You may use the two sentences interchangeably, as there isn't much of a difference in meaning.
However, "in" makes it sound like his share size is very small. "of" makes it sound like his share size is big.

If you use "in" means that he sold his share on this place (iT company). If you use "of" means that shares belongs to a IT company.
