Could you correct my two sentences?

I had been told to pick Mr.smith up to Narita airport.but the way to airport was heavy traffic.so I didn't arrive at the airport in time.

Though the Japanese are said to be hard working, there is no denying that their diligence is realized mistaken by other countries people.

"I was told to pick up Mr. Smith at the Narita airport, but because of heavy traffic, I didn't arrive in time." (This drops a fair amount of implicit detail to avoid an overly long sentence)

I would swap realized for considered in the second sentence, but it's not clear if that is the meaning you wanted.
