有關 英語 (美國) 的問題
I sometimes see people saying "That's a good question." when it doesn't really seem like a good question, or "That means a lot to me." when it seems they don't really mean it. When do you say those things?

"That's a good question." Is usually said when someone in a group had asked them a question that's important to what they're talking about. It doesn't have to be a smart or "good" question, but a question that helps the conversation.
If someone says "That means a lot to me." and they don't mean it they are either lying or being sarcastic. It's not a phrase people would say with ease.

I understand your point but I was just surprised that you can't see that people are saying. Like in the movie, you can see people saying their words. You can't really see it?
