But it's generally said that rapture is being transported by this lofty emotion ( euphoria and ecstasy), that it's not very normal, or that there's a reason for it ( drugs...); it's kind of artificial. After all, we're talking about being overcome by pleasure, not happiness. Elation is more of a natural thing. It's being extremely happy, relieved or delighted about something, but not necessarily overwhelmed by it, and it's more real ( not artificial). Like when you receive good news and you kind of freak out and start laughing, dancing and shrieking: you're elated. Whereas you would feel rapture when you've taken drugs, or reached Heaven ( it's mentioned in the Bible). Basically like you're high, or you're on cloud nine.
