I'd like to know what "play the game" means in a dialogue below;

(Detectives are trying to search a boy's possession.)

Boy: Nobody frisks me, you know what I'm saying?
Detective: Do me a favour - play the game.

Does the detective mean “do what you are supposed to do”?

It says "to act fairy" in my dictionary, but it doesn't seem to fit in this context.
