有關 英語 (美國) 的問題
----while I was reading a short story, I came across this sentence " the legs are for walking through the dessert..." is it correct to use "through" in this context instead of "across"?I think "across" as there is nothing surrounding while in the desert. 用 英語 (美國) 要怎麼說？

Either one works. I would say ‘through the desert’, possibly for the same reason I would say ‘He was in the desert’ and not ‘He was on the desert’. I do find it odd, now that I’m thinking about it, that if it was a plain or a savanna, I would say ‘across’ and ‘on’ instead...
