@jin0707 Oh, I see what you mean. So when you give them the $50, they'll return the change to you, but you can ask them to give you smaller bills (like one $10, one $5, and five $1) instead of a $20 back. So you can give them $6 from the change, but even then you'll only need to place it on the table and leave. Sorry, I misunderstood what you had originally meant.

Tip has various meanings, such as "I tipped our server 15%," in this scenario, you are giving money to your server for their service. There's also "that tip is very sharp," this would be used to describe a pointed edge like a knife (the tip of the knife is very sharp). Or there's "the glass of water tipped over and spilt all over the table," this means that someone or something made the glass fall which cause the water to spill.

Thank you~^^ I'd like to learn how to say things about tip at a restaurant.
If I only have 50 dollars (Let's say), and the food cost like 30..
and let' say I want to tip her/ him 6 dollars.. what do you say to the server?
Can I say. .
" 6 dollars are for you?"
I feel like it sounds rude?

@jin0707 When it comes to tipping at a restaurant, the minimum is normally 15%, and generally you tip based on the quality of service. You don't need to worry about saying anything to the server. When they ring up your bill, if you paid in cash, you can leave the $6 on the table. If you paid with card, there's normally a line on the paper where you can write the tip. If your bill is $34 and you would like to tip $6, and you gave them $40, you can tell them to keep the change.

@jin0707 Then you'll be able to leave the $6 tip on the table, you won't need to say anything to them.

Because I only have 50 dollars, I don't have small bills (no 6 dollars with me)
so how do I give her/ him the tip? I guess I'll have to say something like "6 dollars are for you" or something like that.
I'm wondering if it sounds rude.
