Both of them sound completely natural so you're good with either. Although with both sentences, there should be a comma after 'coat'. I personally would use the second sentence.

@Klarixaun: "My mother is afraid of the cold, so she sometimes wears a coat even in summer." Does this sound natural to you? Does it sound more natural to say "My mother can't withstand coldness, so she sometimes wears a coat even in summer."?
