有關 英語 (美國) 的問題
Rodrick’s in some hot water with Mom right now, too.
I understand this idiom “be in hot water”.
I guess that it means “be in trouble”.
I don’t understand the part of “with mom”
I image that Rodrick and Mom are in trouble, but I believe my thinking is wrong.
I wonder what does “with” mean?
(For example, “with mom” of “I live with mom”...
I guess my example’s “with” is wrong, because if it is the meaning, the story does not make sense...)

with indicates the person that you are in trouble... with. hmm, that's not a good explanation.
mom is the person that is not happy with rodrick.
sorry, I can't explain without using "with".

When I read the story, I guess that Mom gets angry with Rodrick and then Rodrick is in hot water. Wow, be angry with someone... perhaps, is this “with” same as “in hot water with someone”? It is a little different, isn’t it.
