有關 英語 (美國) 的問題

Rodrick’s in some hot water with Mom right now, too.

I understand this idiom “be in hot water”.
I guess that it means “be in trouble”.
I don’t understand the part of “with mom”
I image that Rodrick and Mom are in trouble, but I believe my thinking is wrong.
I wonder what does “with” mean?
(For example, “with mom” of “I live with mom”...
I guess my example’s “with” is wrong, because if it is the meaning, the story does not make sense...)
