Depends where in the USA you will visit. Some places people are friendly, other places they make fun of asian people, even native born.
You should not be afraid though! Let me know if you want specific places to go.

Most Americans can’t speak any Japanese at all, so don’t worry about it. Most people will appreciate that you are trying your best to communicate in their language and they will forgive mistakes.
