Into is a preposition of movement while in and on are prepositions of location. In and on simply tell us where something/someone is.
It is in the kitchen.
The clocks are on the wall.
Into refers to moving from one place to another.
We drove into San Antonio last night.
He walked into the wrong classroom by mistake.
She accidentally drove into the tree.
