was not good = 良くなかった
was satisfactory = まあまあだった/まずまずだった
(ちょっとだけ良かったのに十分じゃなかったみたいな意味です)

Thank you for your help. I think the order is the following; (worse) "not good" <"satisfactory" <"not bad" (better). Is that right?

Satisfactory and not bad are very close though (in my opinion).
