well in my perspectives, thank you for "correction" is used to express your gratitude for the people that giving you the right "answers" or give you the better alternatives with good intention because they think you've made a little mistake and they want you to know the better way or the right way to do it .
to give example, this could be involved in various context . if on learning a language it could be the person correct the wrong gramatical you use, or the pronounciation or etc .
meanwhile thank you for "handling my story will care" is really depends of how you feel about that person . they shouldn't react to give you the right answer or solution .. even if the person just listen to you or maybe comfort you sincerely and put all their attention to your story. you could say : thank you for handling my story with care
