attendee vs attender --> attender is incorrect
attendant = attendee
attendance = the action or state of being present at a place or event.

@squidlydeux actually the word attender exists. Attendant and attendee do not have the same meaning. By the way thank you.
- 英語 (美國)
Attendee and attender aren’t really words we use. Try “guest” if it’s someone who is attending something or “host” if someone is inviting people to attend.
The ending “er” refers to the person doing the action, so attender would attend something. It’s not really a word though. The ending “ee” refers to the person the action is done to or done on, so the attendee would be attended to. Better examples are “employer” (a boss, they employ other people) and “employee” (a worker who is employed by their boss).
Attendant - a person who assists you. Usually attendant refers to a person who assists you on a plane (a “flight attendant”). If you’re not on a plane, we would say “assistant.”
Attendance - the number of people who came to an event. Good attendance means a lot of people came, poor attendance means not very many people came. Teachers take attendance in school each day by calling each student’s name to see if they are there.
Hope that helps :)

I have almost never heard "attender" used except in this form:
--> "He is a regular attender of AA meetings"
--> "He is a regular church attender"
Most of the dicts ascribe "attender" to Brit. usage.
"attendant" and "attendee" are indeed of nearly the same meaning
attendee: https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1CHJW_enUS4...
attendant: noun (2) def: https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1CHJW_enUS4...
If you compare the two definitions you will find that they are nearly identical and arguably interchangeable as in this example:
"Excuse me, I'm looking for Mr. Smith. He is an [attendee / attendant ] at your meeting/church/conference. Can you help me locate him?"
