I would say that "until you leave it" sounds more natural!

I think that both expressions are fine, and mean the same thing.

"Until" is used to describe what is happening up until a certain event takes place. Before is used to describe what happens before an event takes place.

ex. "I stayed awake until the sun came up"

"Call me before I go to school"

Neither of your sentences sound unnatural. In conversation no one would react or even think twice no matter which of the words you used.

Only way to determine which word is correct in which sentence is through practice!
