A : So... you and Ali, Are you two a thing?
B : Me and Ali??? Where do you get that?
A : You two hanging out all the time after class, even in class, you're always partners.
B : I see.. well.. We have known each other since way back. Long enough for our relationship to transcend beyond romantic partners. We're more like families now (Can I replace families with the term "fictive kin") In fact, I often consult with her on how to talk to girls I like.
A : But come on, she's a girl after all. Don't you feel for her Not even a little?
B : Not at all, she's a defeminized figure from the bottom of my heart. Honestly, It's kinda disgusting for me simply envisioning being in love with her. 聼起來自然嗎?

If this is for a casual conversation, it sounds a bit too formal.
A : So. . . you and Ali. . . are you two a thing?

A : Well, you two hang out all the time after class, and even in class you're always partners.
B : I see. Well, we have known each other since way back, but she’s like a sister to me. In fact, I often ask her for advice on how to talk to girls.
