“Can I have a cup of coffee?” Is asking whether you are able to have one or not. “May I have a cup of coffee?” Is asking whether you are allowed to have one or not. “Coffee please?” Is an informal way of asking for coffee. The best one to use in any situation is “May I have a cup of coffee?”

"Can I have a cup of coffee" is asking if it is possible for you to have a cup of coffee. "May I have a cup of coffee" is asking FOR a cup of coffee. "Coffee please" is a more demanding way of asking for coffee.
