You shouldn't use "ain't" in formal situations and in written contexts. Save it for informal conversations.

@HermesLin: It is used instead of "am not", "are not" and "is not". You could use it when talking to your friends, but it's not common anymore, except in the southern US states if I'm not mistaken.
